Seeking cafe/recess aides Monday-Friday 9:45-1:15 at Cider Mill School (grades 3-5). $17 per hour.

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

 

JOB SUMMARY:       To establish and maintain a pleasant, safe and efficient atmosphere in the school cafeteria and at recess.

 

REPORTS TO:           Principal or designee

 

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Monitor student behavior and ensure proper conduct in the lunchroom and/or at playtime.
  2. Ensure that all lunchroom rules and processes are adhered to by students.
  3. Monitor seating for students with special needs or allergies.
  4. Encourage peaceful resolution of conflicts between students.
  5. When necessary, reports disciplinary concerns to building administration or teacher.
  6. Organize students into orderly lines for the purchase of food, disposal of wastes and for dismissal from the cafeteria.
  7. In case of any emergency or drill, properly manage the evacuation of students following the school safety plan guidelines. For Shelter-In-Place situations, follow guidelines to ensure the safety of students and staff members.
  8. Organizes group games and activities as needed, or monitor individual playtime.
  9. Assumes responsibility for play equipment as needed.
  10. Evaluate student injuries, determines course of action, perform emergency first aid when necessary and completes required district paperwork as appropriate.
  11. Reports safety, sanitary and fire hazards immediately to supervisor.
  12. Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality.
  13. Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  14. Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by school administration.
